Take That

I swore these words would never come out of my mouth... "What part of _____, didn't you understand?"

My parents never resorted to the phrase and I have always thought it sounded pretty nasty. Well, tonight I said it and tonight I was taken to task for it.

We were late getting the girls to bed tonight, Katherine had had a million temper tantrums during the day and I had a headache. Needless to say, I was done. Katherine was already upset about something and Caroline wouldn't stop talking to her about it. I had said, "Caroline, let it go." many times before I said, "What part of let it go, didn't you understand?"

To which she replied, "What part of you is good?"

I stopped in my tracks and worked hard at not crying. Apparently, there was a good reason I had planned to never say what I said. And I resolve to never say it again. Hopefully, the good part of me is admitting a wrong and righting it.

Potty Training

Potty training Caroline was one of the easiest things we have done. During the summer of her third birthday, she informed us that she would start peeing on the potty the day we got home from the beach. She did and we moved on.

So... when Katherine told us that she would start using the potty when she turned three, I believed her. April 10th came and went- with lots of pee on the floor. We put diapers back on deciding she wasn't quite ready. When we returned from Disney World last week, we went cold turkey. No more diapers. But lots and lots of pee on the floor with little care from Katherine. After two really wet days, I finally gave up and resorted to pull ups.

Yesterday, Katherine walked up to me with a huge grin on her face. "I just potty trained in my pull up Mommy!"

It seems we have a long to go...

I'm Back

So... Today I received two e-mails from people asking why I hadn't posted... And another e-mail last week asking the same question. I guess it's time to post!

I find blogging so much like healthy eating... if I let it go for even a few days, I can be off the wagon (or is it on the wagon? I am never sure...) for ever!

I have excuses galore- Disney World, preparations for a small speech therapy and reading practice, end of school year craziness, transitioning both girls to new schools next year etc, etc, etc...

Enough excuses. I'm back. I hope.
